A uPVC front door is manufactured from plastic, while a composite door is made from different materials which are pressed and bonded under high pressure conditions. Without getting too technical, the combination of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), a sturdy steel and aluminium reinforced PVCu frame and an insulating polyurethane foam means that a composite front door will provide strength, security and protection from the elements for many years to come.

With its heat-retaining foam core and strong frame, the multi-layered construction of a composite door is much thicker than a uPVC door. This gives the structure added resilience—while the GRP outer layer won’t fade or warp in adverse weather conditions meaning it stays looking good for much longer.
